Euclid Public Sector Legacy

Chris Golonka CPCU, RPLU, ARe

Founder
(1963-2021)

In many ways, Chris Golonka’s founding of Euclid Public Sector, LLC in 2016 was a way to fulfill a lifelong ambition: to create an public sector underwriting facility that puts clients and communities first. He came to work each day with a deep belief that municipalities, counties, schools, university campuses, transportation systems and other publicly-funded agencies should be treated with the same care and respect as any private sector entity, and his enthusiasm informed every part of our business.

When Chris joined forces with principal Jim Marquis, Euclid Public Sector went from an idea to a leading provider of products and coverage for public entities of all types, of nearly any size.

Under Chris’s leadership Euclid Public Sector became an ethics-first insurance entity. He built a team of inclusion, kindness, trust and humor, and those of us who knew him will always appreciate his quick wit and warm spirit.

In describing the company Chris often referred to the “3 Cs — collaborative, collegiate and consistent” and believed that these principles would guide both our client relationships and professional affiliations.

The success of our business was shared with employees, because Chris always considered Euclid Public Sector his second family.

Chris always made a big impression, and was a devoted family man in his personal life too, with his deepest love reserved for his wife of 35 years, Inka — and his loving children (of whom he was forever proud) and granddaughter, and, of course, his dogs.

Chris was active in his community, at his church, and took great pleasure in reliving his college football days by volunteering as a youth football coach.

We will forever miss Chris’s good nature and loving personality, and we will always remember his passion for our industry. His vision for what a public-entity insurance provider can be, and his dedication to our treasured clients, will guide the decisions we make today and in the future.
